Overview
ClarifiQ Technologies LLC ("ClarifiQ," "we," "our," or "us") provides a personal-finance application that helps people review connected account activity, recurring-looking charges, spending changes, and related insights. This policy explains the information handled when you use the ClarifiQ website, web application, or iOS application.
Information We Collect
Account and profile information
- Email address and account identifier
- Name, username, and profile details you choose to provide
- Account settings, preferences, and onboarding progress
Authentication is provided through Supabase Auth. If you create a password, the authentication provider processes it; ClarifiQ does not store or display your plain-text password.
Connected financial information
When you choose to connect a supported US financial institution through Plaid, ClarifiQ may receive and store:
- Institution and account details, such as account name, type, masked account identifier, and balances
- Transaction details, including merchant or description, amount, date, category, and pending status
- Available liability information for supported accounts, such as credit-card balances, payment details, or due dates
- Connection identifiers and tokens used to maintain the read-only Plaid connection
Your bank sign-in credentials are entered in Plaid's interface. ClarifiQ does not receive or store those bank credentials. ClarifiQ's bank access is read-only and cannot be used to move money or make changes to your financial accounts.
Billing and subscription information
- Plan, subscription status, trial and renewal dates, and cancellation status
- Payment-provider customer, subscription, transaction, or invoice identifiers and billing history
Web payments are processed by Stripe, and iOS purchases are processed by Apple. ClarifiQ does not receive your complete card number or Apple Account password from those services.
Content and AI interactions
- Questions and messages you submit to the AI Coach
- AI responses and conversation history
- Notes, corrections, feedback, and other content you add in the application
When you choose to use an AI feature and provide the in-app consent, ClarifiQ sends OpenAI the message and financial context needed to generate the requested response. We do not send your bank login credentials to OpenAI.
Device, usage, and support information
- Feature-use and onboarding indicators used to operate the application and show relevant guidance
- Device platform and a push-notification token if you enable push notifications
- Technical request or diagnostic information processed by our hosting and service providers, which may include IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, and error information
- Messages and details you provide when contacting support
How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, and maintain your account
- Connect supported accounts and synchronize transactions
- Present balances, spending activity, recurring-looking charges, and personalized insights
- Provide AI features when you choose to use them
- Manage subscriptions, trials, purchases, and billing support
- Send account, security, service, and requested support messages
- Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve ClarifiQ and prevent misuse
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
How We Share Information
We share information only as needed to provide and protect the service, complete actions you request, or meet legal obligations. Service providers include:
- Plaid for read-only financial account connections and data retrieval
- Supabase for authentication, databases, and application infrastructure
- OpenAI for AI responses when you use and consent to AI features
- Stripe and Apple for subscription and purchase processing
- Vercel for website and application hosting
- Resend for service and support email delivery
We may also disclose information in response to valid legal process, to protect users or the service, to investigate fraud or security issues, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets. If ownership changes, the information may be transferred subject to applicable law.
ClarifiQ does not sell personal or financial information, share it with third-party advertisers, or use it to track you across other companies' apps and websites.
Security
ClarifiQ uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information. These include HTTPS for data in transit, authentication and access controls, and restricting sensitive provider tokens to server-side systems. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention and Account Deletion
We retain information while your account is active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, resolve disputes, and meet legal or financial-record obligations. Retention periods vary by data type and provider.
You can request account deletion from ClarifiQ settings or by contacting us. Deletion removes account data from active ClarifiQ systems, subject to information that must be retained by law, payment-provider records, fraud-prevention needs, and temporary copies in provider backups. Disconnecting a bank stops the active connection but is separate from deleting your entire ClarifiQ account.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
- Review or update profile and preference information
- Disconnect a linked financial institution
- Export available transaction data
- Decline AI consent or stop using AI features
- Disable push notifications in your device settings
- Cancel your subscription through its billing provider
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your information
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights or an appeal process. To make a privacy request, email privacy@clarifi-q.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Children and US Availability
ClarifiQ is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information to ClarifiQ.
ClarifiQ is based in the United States and currently supports eligible US financial institutions. Information may be processed and stored in the United States and other locations where our providers operate, subject to applicable safeguards.

We may update this policy as ClarifiQ or its data practices change. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. We may provide additional notice for material changes when required by law.
